Usher is confused in the music video to "Love in This Club"

Okay so these are the first song lyrics, brought about by a question and a long history of singing this song word for word. Enjoy.

Love in This Club was originally conceived by producer extraordinaire Polow da Don, who up until that point had been most well known for his production of the song “Throw Some D’s” by Rich Boy. Many believe, however, that Mr. da Don used a certain riff from Apple’s well known Garage Band application called, “Euro Hero Synths” to create the beat to the popular summer hit of 2008. Controversy also surrounded the similarities of the beat to a song entitled “Break Your Bones” by Kill Paradise.

Aside from the production controversies, the lyrical content was also called into question. Mr. da Don came to the defense of the song, proclaiming that the song is not about sex, but instead “lust at first sight” and “having the urge” to make “love in this club”, when its obviously not entirely appropriate.

The Young Jeezy verse, which mirrors the beat by using a stuttered flow, fits in well to the song, and yet was not originally part of its composition, but once Jeezy had laid his verse on the track, Usher was so enthralled that he allowed the verse to stay, making the version of Love in This Club what we know and love today.

The song reached the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts and was remixed multiple times, including “Love in This Club Part II” featuring Beyonce and Lil Wayne.
